What About Bob bio picture

What About Bob?

Welcome to my blog!  This is all about the life and times of Bob Knapik Photographers.  I will be posting both personal and professional things in this blog.  It will be a great way to get to know me a little bit better.

My love of photography started when I was 7 years old. I received my first camera as a gift from Santa and slept with it every night during Christmas vacation. My intuition and creativity come from 18 years of marriage, 8 years of chasing my daughter, and 5 years of living near my in-laws. I’d take Red Sox over Yankees, beer over wine, beef over fish, and pizza over everything! I’ve travelled around the World (over 40 countries and all 50 States). Some of my favorite places are Moscow, Iceland, Cancun, and Israel. Let me tell you, Tel Aviv has some of the most amazing pizza! I can’t emphasize enough how blessed and honored I feel to capture once in a lifetime wedding memories. This day is shared with only your closest family and friends. I feel it is a real privilege to be invited to such a precious day by my clients. When I am not photographing you can catch me listening to Jimmy Buffett, riding my motorcycle or scooter, scuba diving or hanging out with my family.

Catholic Schools Week 2010 – St. Teresa’s School

The week of February 1st was Catholic Schools week here in the Diocese of Orlando.  There were lot’s of great activities and events during the week.  On Friday the 5th all of the kids celebrated Mass in the morning and then the faculty played against the 8th graders in a volleyball game that evening. Here is a slideshow that I put together with the pictures I took at both of those events. Enjoy!

Central Florida Wildcats

One of the fun things that I am involved in is the University of Arizona Alumni Association.  I am currently the president of the Central Florida Wildcats.  Last night a bunch of us got together to watch the AZ Cats play in the 2009 Holiday Bowl.  What a disaster the game was but we all still had a blast.  Here are a few pictures from last night.  Enjoy.  Bear Down!

Ginger and Norman – Married!!!

About a week and a half ago I had the chance to photograph Ginger and Norman’s wedding in Satellite Beach Florida.  It was a beautiful wedding planned by the Wedding Belles.  I had help from the fantastic Milton Gil. Ginger and Norm are a great couple and the wedding was a blast.  Here is a slideshow with pictures from their wonderful day. Enjoy!

Space Shuttle STS-129 Launch

It was a picture perfect day for a shuttle launch.  It was one of the smoothest countdowns to a launch that I have seen since living here for 5 years.  It never gets boring or old to see this amazing thing.  I get goose bumps and tear up every time I see a launch.  Here is a picture of the launch from my back yard as well as a brief video of the first minute or so of the launch.  Enjoy!

Happy Veteran’s Day!!!

The Hollywood Shot

It’s hard to believe that it’s been almost 20 years since that picture of me was taken.  I wish I still had that flat stomach.  Please take some time today to thank our veterans and reflect on how good we have it in America.  After traveling the World and seeing life in over 40 countries I can honestly say that this is the best country in the World to live in.  Yeah we have our problems and challenges but so does every other country.  We have more freedom and choices than anywhere else and we owe it all to the men and women that have served our Country.  Thanks for putting your Country before yourselves.  Happy Veteran’s Day!

I just saw this quote and needed to add it to my post.  It is so appropriate for today.

“It is the soldier, not the reporter, Who has given us freedom of the press. It is the soldier not the poet, Who has given us freedom of speech. It is the soldier, not the campus organizer, Who has given us the freedom to demonstrate. It is the soldier, Who salutes the flag, Who serves beneath the flag, And whose coffin is draped by the flag, Who allows the protester to burn the flag.” – Rev. O’Brien USMC
